Coal Dust on Curtains

Soak the curtains in warm water with a small amount of oven cleaner spray (such as Amway, Unicum, Azelit, Fakir, or Adriel) for 1 hour by pouring a small amount directly into the water.

Wash the curtains in the washing machine using the Synthetic cycle at 40°C.

Use specialized detergents like Kashemir for tulle and curtains to remove greasy or nicotine films, or use dedicated curtain powders like Selena, Dr.Beckmann, or Heitmann.

- Avoid washing white synthetic curtains at temperatures of 60°C or higher, as this causes the fabric to turn grey permanently. - Note that oven cleaners are alkaline, similar to many laundry detergents, making them effective for removing greasy soot.
